MAGA-inspired Patriot’s Day Freedom Fest event with Kid Rock is canceled amid poor ticket sales

Patriot’s Day Freedom Fest, a MAGA-inspired event that was slated to be held Saturday in Kentucky, has been canceled due to poor VIP ticket sales.

Organizer Eric Deters revealed the event, which was slated to feature Kid Rock and Dog the Bounty Hunter among other notable names, was canceled in a Facebook clip he subsequently deleted, Newsweek and The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

Deters, 63, who started the gathering four years back, explained in the clip that he had relied on well-heeled attendees to support the event, which also featured free general admission tickets.

‘When I put together Patriot State Freedom Fest, I put it together with the game plan and the idea that I could pay for it with the VIP sales of $1,000 from these hundred people that I interact with on a regular basis that have money,’ Deters said.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Kid Rock and Deters for further comment on the story.

In the clip, Deters explained how he learned of paltry sales on the VIP tickets.

‘It’s Monday morning; I got my guy who’s setting up the ticket sales. I said, “How many have bought a ticket?”

‘And he said, “You can’t make this up” – are you ready for the drumroll? Only six people had bought a VIP ticket.’

Deters said in the clip that he felt his loyalty to others had not been reciprocated.

‘Out of all these people that have money that I interact with, who I do favors for all day long,’ Deters said. ‘They ask me for something, I never say no. I never said no to these people.’

Deters vowed that he wouldn’t forget the slow sales when approached by those people moving forward.

‘None of these people will ever, ever, ever get a favor from me again, ever,’ Deters said.

He said that he would also ‘never ever, ever, ever, ever’ promote the event in the future.

Deters posted another clip on the social media site explaining that preexisting ‘financial obligations’ had kept him from completely funding the event as he’s done in the past.

He said that he wanted to clarify that the event had not faltered due to a ‘lack of support,’ adding that ‘MAGA supporters always support this event, always turn out.’

Deters noted, ‘The issue was simply paying for the damn event because I make it free.’ 

Deters praised Kid Rock as ‘a good dude,’ noting that the event’s ‘cancellation had absolutely nothing to do’ with the musician.

A publicist for the Cowboy artist told Entertainment Weekly that Kid Rock ‘was added to this event five days before it cancelled’ and ‘has no other ties to the event.

‘He was not performing, only booked to speak at the event.’

An advertisement for the gathering’s VIP plan said the contribution covered a special area to watch the event, a lounge with catering and a meet-and-greet session with attendees.

Among the other advertised guests at the event included Fox broadcaster Joe Concha, Rep. James Comer and boxer Jackie Kallen.
