Meghan Markle stuns MasterChef Australia contestants as she is unveiled as surprise guest judge in new promo filmed during Australian tour
The Duchess of Sussex is set to make one of the biggest surprise appearances in MasterChef Australia history.
A newly released promo for the hit Channel 10 cooking competition shows Meghan Markle being dramatically unveiled as a surprise guest judge, leaving contestants visibly stunned as she walks into the MasterChef kitchen.
The episode, filmed during Meghan’s Australian visit with Prince Harry in April, is scheduled to air on Sunday.
The teaser begins with judges Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli introducing a mystery guest before Meghan steps into the kitchen dressed in a chic black ensemble.
‘I love incredible produce and farm to table,’ said Meghan as a table laden with fresh fruit and vegetables was unveiled to the contestants.
‘Really excited for this,’ she beamed.

Contestant Aaron Kher was particularly flustered by Meghan’s appearance, fanning himself and beaming like a Cheshire cat as she addressed the group.
‘Like, what is my life?’ he told producers.
The promo also revealed a glimpse at some of the incredible dishes created by the contestants.
One particular creation left Meghan stunned, with the brunette declaring: ‘Rubbing my temples because I can’t understand how this is so good’.
It follows reports claiming Meghan and members of her team were left unhappy after allegedly asking MasterChef Australia producers not to refer to her as ‘royalty’.
In a promotional clip released on the same day filming took place, judge Poh Ling Yeow welcomed the Duchess to the kitchen with a grand introduction.
‘We’ve had MasterChef royalty in the kitchen before, but no one like this,’ Poh said.
‘All the way from sunny California, please welcome to MasterChef Australia… The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle!’

According to New Idea, the introduction left Poh feeling ‘upset’.
‘It wasn’t about Meghan personally,’ a source told the publication.
‘Poh felt she had been unintentionally drawn into a royal protocol issue she never intended to be part of.’
A separate insider alleged Poh had hoped to contact Meghan directly to apologise, but was advised to let the production team deal with the situation instead.
‘She was willing to reach out immediately,’ the source said.
‘But she was advised to leave it for production to handle.’
