Meghan McCain leads women sharing devastating COVID miscarriage stories as Fauci is accused of playing down vaccine risks to pregnant women

Devastating stories of women suffering miscarriages during the pandemic have emerged after it was revealed Dr Anthony Fauci privately speculated about risks associated with the COVID vaccine during pregnancy. 

The former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) worried that the second shot ‘theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the 1st trimester,’ his texts from 2021, released on Monday, show.

The messages were published by Republican senators as part of their investigation into Fauci but do not state the the dose directly causes miscarriages or show Fauci suggesting this. 

The CDC ultimately determined that the jab ‘has not been linked to increased health risks for pregnant women or babies’, but Fauci’s texts led women who miscarried to share their stories on social media.

Among those was Meghan McCain, who has called for Fauci to face prosecution. 

‘Put Fauci in jail! I am a woman who was pregnant and had a miscarriage during COVID,’ McCain, who has three children with journalist Ben Domenech, wrote on X.

Billionaire Bill Ackman also revealed that his wife Neri Oxman lost seven pregnancies during the pandemic.

‘Neri (and I) had seven miscarriages trying to have a second child during Covid and then the time ran out. WTF was he thinking?’ Ackman said of Fauci. 

Other women on social media also claimed to have miscarried after receiving the vaccine.

‘I miscarried at 12 weeks just 5 days after a booster. Booster was taken after NP [nurse practitioner] stated she would be more worried about me as a mother if I declined it,’ one woman named Roxy wrote.

Many discussed how their loved ones had miscarriages after taking the shots. 

‘My daughter took the first two shots to keep her job. She had two miscarriages in the first trimester. One in 2023, and another in 2024. Fortunately she had my granddaughter in 2025,’ one person said on X.

‘My daughter, who was forced to get the va [vaccine] because of her job, lost her second baby at 15 weeks. I had a hunch this was the reason. Words fail me right now. I am sick to my stomach,’ another added.

Another user, Martha, disclosed that her friend miscarried and said she ‘can’t help but suspect it was related to the vaccine.’

‘She would be devastated if she knew positively it was related as she got the vaccine on a whim when it was mass promoted and before people started figuring out there were issues,’ she said.

Many men came forward to share stories about their wives’ miscarrying after getting vaccinated.

‘My wife had a miscarriage after taking the required shots to keep her job/any job in healthcare,’ wrote Dan Karpuc.

‘Both my wife & I graduated from Fauci’s alma mater Holy Cross, which recently renamed the building we took classes in the “Anthony S Fauci Integrated Sciences Complex.” Disgusted.’

Others had successful pregnancies but were still furious with Fauci for what they saw as a lack of transparency that saw prospective parents denied his full views on the potential risks of the shot. 

Lindsey Brown, an anchor for KSTP in Minnesota, wrote that she took the jab while pregnant after having already had two miscarriages, stating that she felt ‘enormous pressure to get it’ and wanted to see her parents, who were in their 70s.

‘I was terrified and skipped dose two while pregnant. I trusted my gut. By the grace of God, Oliver was born healthy,’ she wrote. 

‘This does NOT prove the vaccine caused miscarriages. That’s not my point. COVID became political, but this shouldn’t be. Pregnant women deserved to know the uncertainties experts discussed privately. You can support vaccines and demand transparency.’

She added her hopes that the text messages receive ‘the same scrutiny given to people who questioned the vaccines at the time.’ 

Journalist Peter J Hasson claimed his then-pregnant wife was told by her doctor and teachers at her medical school that it was ‘totally reasonable to not get the vaccine’ after getting the virus once and having the antibodies. 

But he claimed she struggled to find clinical rotations due to her unvaccinated status.  

‘And so now, to see Fauci had the same concerns she did? Infuriating,’ he wrote.

As of February of 2026, the CDC has said: ‘COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy has not been linked to increased health risks for pregnant women or babies. It helps reduce the risk for severe illness from COVID-19.’ 

GOP Senators Ron Johnson and Rand Paul published a series of messages from January 25 and 26, 2021, which included discussions of the vaccine as it pertained to pregnant women. 

The conversation in question was between Fauci, Rochelle Walensky, former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Vivek Murthy, former United States surgeon general.

One of the texts reveals that Fauci was concerned that the second dose of the Covid shot ‘theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the 1st trimester.’ 

COVID shots first became available around the same time after undergoing fast track development.  

In another text message, Murthy asked Fauci and Walensky if they had seen a WHO advisory, ‘against pregnant women taking the Moderna vaccine bc [because] of lack of data?’

‘It has led to a flurry of questions. What is your take? I imagine we will all get asked about this,’ Murthy probed his colleagues.

Fauci responded that ‘[with regard to] pregnant women one must weigh the potential risks against the benefits,’ of getting the vaccine versus Covid itself, before adding that ‘animal tox studies did not raise any red flags.’

Murthy then indicated that the WHO statement was a ‘strong [one] to make’ and ‘potentially quite damaging to public confidence among pregnant women.’

In total, the senators noted that the phone contains more than 34,000 text messages and 522 voicemails. 

Curiously, the Republicans found that Fauci only had three contacts listed, raising questions of whether the data may have been ‘deleted.’ 

Johnson has requested transcribed interviews with Fauci, as well as other Food and Drug Administration officials.

Johnson alleges that senior FDA officials ignored warnings that the agency’s vaccine safety monitoring system was failing to detect potential safety signals.

The closed-door transcribed interview process is what the House Oversight Committee has been using in the Epstein investigations. Information obtained has been released to the general public within days of the interviews.

Fauci appeared before the Senate for a bombshell hearing last month, during which he invoked the Fifth Amendment 111 times under questioning from senators.

He was found by Paul’s committee to be in contempt of Congress. Paul later referred the contempt vote to the Department of Justice.

Fauci’s personal diaries were released by Paul last month, showing how he delighted in his interactions with celebrities as America went through the death throes of the early pandemic.
