NFL star gives his team a major shock as he reveals his age is WRONG

NFL star Sauce Gardner stunned reporters when he revealed that his age has been listed incorrectly for the first five years of his professional career.

During a recent back-and-forth with reporters about his leadership role as a veteran, the cornerback insisted that he was still relatively young.

However, his statement raised a bigger question: How old exactly is Gardner?

‘I’m 24, by the way,’ he said on the last day of the Indianapolis Colts minicamp, surprising fans and reporters alike.

‘It’s crazy that I’m even being asked this,’ he added, via The Athletic. ‘You can ask my mom!’

What was truly crazy was the fact that almost every sports website, from Pro Football Reference to ESPN to TheAthletic.com, had listed Gardner’s birthday as August 31, 2000, which would make him 25 years old.

Even Madden, the wildly popular NFL video game by EA, had Gardner listed as being 25 years old.

‘It’s wrong in Madden, too? That’s crazy because I never checked,’ Gardner said after he was notified.

‘Because when it comes to the paperwork and everything I’ve signed, it all says ’01. So, I don’t know where or how it got messed up unless people just get it straight from Google.’

It still remains a mystery exactly how Gardner’s birth date had been mixed up for so long.

‘Clubs notify us of any incorrect birth dates that would have appeared on their college sites when a player signs,’ NFL chief spokesman Brian McCarthy said per The Athletic.

‘Players also self-verify their birthdates and other personal information through a player portal.’

The two-time first-team All-Pro is heading into his fifth season in the NFL after being drafted by the New York Jets in 2022.

The brilliant cornerback was sent to the Indianapolis Colts in a trade that sent shockwaves through the NFL last November.

It was the first of two huge deals involving New York in the hours before the trade deadline. The Jets later sent star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys.

Gardner, one of the Jets’ most popular and accomplished players, was traded to the Colts for a first-round draft pick in 2026 and another in 2027, along with wide receiver Adonai Mitchell.

For Williams, meanwhile, the Cowboys sent New York a 2027 first-round pick, a 2026 second-rounder and underperforming defensive tackle Mazi Smith.

The Jets will get the better of Dallas’ 2027 first-rounders. The Cowboys added first-round choices each of the next two years in another blockbuster, the trade that sent star pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Packers.
