Party Rock Anthem singer Lauren Bennett, 36, took her own life in woods after telling her husband she was going for a walk

Party Rock Anthem singer Lauren Bennett took her own life after telling her husband she was going for a morning walk, an inquest has concluded.
The 36-year-old’s body was discovered in woodland by her husband, actor and choreographer Kenny Wormald, and her father Richard who had gone out looking for her after she failed to return home.
The singer, best known for featuring on LMFAO’s 2011 chart-topping hit and as a member of girl group G.R.L, had been suffering from a mental health disorder, the hearing was told.
The night before her death, she had told her husband she planned to go for a walk between 9am and 9.30am near their home in Meopham, Kent.
In a statement, he said: ‘After a few hours I started to get worried after Lauren had not returned.’
The singer’s hours-long disappearance sparked a frantic search by both her husband and her father, Richard, around the family home.
An analysis of Lauren’s phone by police revealed that many calls had been made by family members to her phone.
Wormald used the find my phone feature to help locate her which was found a 15 minute walk from the property in dense forest.

In her verdict, Assistant Coroner Jyoti Gill ruled that Bennett had died by suicide by hanging after a hearing at Maidstone Coroners’ Court.
Gill found that Bennett had ‘experienced a deterioration in her mental health since January 2026.’
After marrying Wormald in the US in 2019, Bennett was diagnosed with fragile X syndrome which can result in anxiety.
Earlier in January, Bennett received psychiatric care between 16 and 23 January after she went multiple days without sleeping.
The coroner’s court heard that around the time Bennett’s father would ‘[distract] her with tabletop games’ during the tragic deterioration where ‘she began to question whether she was in reality.’
She had been prescribed a variety of drugs following her psychiatric care.
In a statement read out in court, Richard said that prior to her death ‘she was having bad reactions to medications which she stopped weeks previously.’
A toxicology report prepared after her death found ‘nothing of toxicological significance.’

Subsequent police searches of the singer’s property found ‘letters of intent’ in her bedside drawer.
But the court heard that she had not made others aware of her intentions.
A statement from a member of the Early Intervention Psychosis team said that: ‘She did not disclose any information she would harm herself’ and ‘was not referred to the crisis team.’
Wormald also said in his statement that ‘Whilst she was very open with him she never gave any details about her ending her own life.’
