Prince Harry Has Reacted To The Reality Show I Wanna Marry ‘Harry’

Prince Harry has finally acknowledged the existence of one of the greatest (see: trashiest) reality TV shows of all time, I Wanna Marry “Harry”.

For the uninitiated, I Wanna Marry “Harry” was a 2014 reality show where 12 American women were tricked into believing they were competing to date Prince Harry, when it was actually just a lookalike. In fact, the Bachelor, Matthew Hicks, wasn’t even a natural ginger and dyed his blonde hair red for the show.

Now, 12 years on from when the series premiered (and was cancelled after just four episodes due to low ratings), the Duke of Sussex has addressed the show on former rugby player Joe Marler’s podcast, Joe Marler Will See You Now.

“Did you ever watch I Wanna Marry “Harry”?” comedian and “research assistant” Jake Bhardwaj asked. “Are you aware of I Wanna Marry “Harry”?”

“Yeah, well, originally they asked me [to do it], and I wasn’t available,” he deadpanned. “That’s not the worst that’s out there. That’s just one example.”

Prince Harry also admitted that his “favourite trashy TV show” is Love Island, although he quickly clarified: “I don’t watch Love Island, I have watched Love Island. There’s a big difference.”

Sadly, the King’s son wasn’t asked for his thoughts on Red, White & Royal Blue, whose lead character, Prince Henry, is widely believed to be based on him. I guess we’ll have to wait for his inevitable Call Her Daddy interview for that.

Prince Harry’s grooming routine

Elsewhere in the wide-ranging interview, the famous redhead was asked to give his full name (“Henry Albert Charles David, Duke of Sussex”) and occupation — a rather contentious issue considering he famously stepped back from his role as a working member of the royal family and relocated to Southern California with his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020.

“Uh, full-time dad, British Army veteran, Prince of England, Duke,” he responded. “But today, I don’t know, what do you want? Duke.”

He was also grilled about his daily “grooming routine”, which he candidly revealed was “shit, shower and a shave”. I’m so glad I know this information.

“I trim my beard every sort of five, six days just to keep it a little bit tidy,” he added. “Nothing really happening on top [of my head]. I get a haircut. Otherwise, I try not to look at what’s happening.”
