Ship carrying 2,500 containers sinks after hitting mine in Strait of Hormuz, claim Iran’s Guards

A container ship sank in waters south of the Strait of Hormuz after hitting a naval mine and catching fire, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Navy said in a statement shared by state media on Wednesday.
The ship carrying more than 2,500 containers had attempted to transit what the Guards described as an unauthorised and dangerous route, the statement said, warning local vessels and fishermen to take care.
