Taylor Swift’s celebrity wedding guests FLEE lavish MSG reception early… as Travis Kelce extravaganza runs into the early hours

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding reception is the hottest ticket in town – yet some of their celebrity guests were seen fleeing Madison Square Garden while the night was still young.

After months of teases, rumors and conflicting reports, the couple, both 36, finally tied the knot in front of 1,000 of their closest friends – and the world’s biggest stars – in a colossal blowout on Friday. 

The guest list read like an awards ceremony with Gigi Hadid, Lena Dunham, Adam Sandler, Steven Spielberg,  Jimmy Fallon and Beyonce among the celebrity invitees.

With the afterparty potentially stretching to 4am, a handful of stars were seen ducking out early.

Comedian Chris Rock was seen heading off in a car around 10pm, while actor Hugh Grant and his wife Anna Eberstein followed close behind.

First to leave was a somber Tom Brady, who looked handsome as he climbed into a cab solo.

George Stephanopoulos also made a giddy exit from the festivities, as hundreds of guests were still partying the night away, while Jessica Alba and Danny Ramirez followed close behind.

The departing guests may have missed out on a much-anticipated performance from bride Swift with Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney. 

The couple’s union was publicly announced at 7.30pm on Friday on ad billboards at MSG which read: ‘JusT&T married’.

At the same time, Swift’s long-serving publicist Tree Paine sent an email blast to journalists detailing the event – and what the bride wore.

‘The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Haute Couture. They are designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the Bride and Groom,’ Paine wrote.

‘This is the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. Their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewelry.

‘Taylor & Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man. The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.’

Swifties and sports fans the world over watched on feverishly on Friday as the couple pulled off possibly the most out-of-this-world celebrity wedding in recent memory.

NYPD officials – briefed for the occasion – shut down streets in the sweltering heat. 

Swift’s beloved girl squad were by her side throughout. She started the day by getting ready at best friend Hadid’s house. Her other trusty sidekick, Selena Gomez, was in attendance, as was Lena Dunham, Ellie Goulding, Dakota Johnson and her childhood best friend, Abigail Anderson Berard.

Making a surprising appearance was Swift’s former close friend Karlie Kloss, who wowed in a gold dress alongside her husband Joshua Kushner.

Swift did not attend Kloss’s 2019 wedding after the pair had a rumored feud over the model’s close bond with the singer’s nemesis Scooter Braun.

Kelce was joined by his brother, Jason, the entire Kansas City Chiefs team, and longtime friends Ross Travis and Aric Jones. 

Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker was intentionally left off the wedding guest list by couple while every other player on Kelce’s team was said to be in attendance.

The event is believed to have been a mind-blowing stream of surprises and musical performances, though with every guest required to sign an NDA before even receiving their invitations, the details remain unusually scarce. 

There were some clues in the boatload of deliveries at MSG throughout the week. 

Swift’s crews have been preparing for days, bringing in lavish food and elaborate sets for what appears to have been a fairytale, secret-garden-themed spectacle. 

There were rumors of a castle being constructed inside the venue, a possible ode to her 2008 Love Story music video, in which she portrayed a modern-day Juliet, waiting for her Romeo. 

There were forests of trees, thousands of peach and pink roses, and what even looked like bedframes being hauled into the arena throughout. 

As for the food, deliveries from the likes of Sartiano’s – a trendy Manhattan eatery the pair frequent – and Krispy Kreme were spotted arriving at the venue earlier in the week. 

Fans are no doubt disappointed by the lack of photographs from inside the event itself. 

But their appetite for gossip and pictures will soon be satiated: Swift, we have learned, filmed the entire weekend. 

It remains unclear where the footage will emerge, whether on one of her tightly run social media accounts or in a big, splashy streaming-service documentary.

Lighting, sound, catering, flowers, decorations and labor could cost between $10 million and $12 million, The Times suggested, while adding that their estimate was a very conservative one. 

Permit fees for the two-day affair would likely cost at least $132,000 based on the city’s permitting office rates.

It would also cost taxpayers over $1 million to have hundreds of police officers providing security and patrolling MSG.

Ahead of their celebration, Swift and Kelce donated $26 million to 20 charities. The unusually specific number has sparked speculation that it matches the actual cost of their wedding celebrations.  

Regardless of the final bill, it’s no surprise that the Singer has gone all out for her big day.

Weddings have been a constant subject in Swift’s songs since she was a teenager, and her actually walking the aisle for the first time at age 36 adds to the drama. 

The couple’s Love Story began three years ago this week, when Kelce first laid eyes on the songstress at her Kansas City Eras Tour concert on July 8, 2023. 

The Chiefs tight end tried to meet Swift that evening, bringing along a friendship bracelet that contained his phone number. However, his attempt at handing her the jewelry was unsuccessful. 

At the same time, Swift was at her own professional peak, traveling the world for her sold-out stadium shows, with Kelce flying in to support her. 

Despite their hectic schedules and intense public interest in their romance, Kelce claimed that he felt calmed by both his girlfriend’s presence and down-to-earth nature. 

‘Whenever I’m with her, it feels like we’re just regular people.… When there is not a camera on us, we’re just two people that are in love,’ he told GQ.

When the couple announced their engagement in August of last year, social media exploded in celebration, with fans immediately speculating about their wedding.  

Details of the nuptials were shrouded in secrecy since that day, with scant details leaking to the press.  

Many Swifties speculated that the singer’s Rhode Island mansion would be the venue for the wedding, with various dates floated online.

In recent weeks, however, rumors that the celebration would be held inside Manhattan’s Madison Square Garden over the July 4 weekend intensified. 

An insider informed the Daily Mail that Swift and Kelce had embraced the idea of a ‘spectacle’ wedding and selected the stadium as their venue. 

News broke last week that a local event planning company had filed for permits to close the streets around the arena from July 2 to midday July 4, requesting sufficient space for trucks, canopies and tents.

New York’s City Hall confirmed the existence of the permit application and indicated the event would include between 500 and 999 attendees.

Meanwhile, Michael Rubin, the sports merch tycoon famed for his Fourth of July parties in the Hamptons, moved the date of his bash to July 1 this year, suggesting some celebs would instead be spending the long weekend in New York City for Swift and Kelce’s celebrations. 

Swift’s romantic life has long been the subject of widespread interest among fans and the public at large, fueled by her hit songs that have detailed her dalliances. 

The singer’s first headline-hitting relationship was with Joe Jonas way back in 2008, before she was linked to actor Taylor Lautner the following year. 

Swift’s track Back To December was reportedly inspired by her romance with the Twilight star, which flamed out after just three months. 

She subsequently embarked on a short romance with rocker John Mayer, which resulted in the creation of her anthem Dear John, featured on her third album Speak Now. 

Meanwhile, Swift is widely rumored to have lost her virginity to Brokeback Mountain actor Jake Gyllenhaal, whom she dated in 2010. 

The brutal break-up is said to have served as fodder for All Too Well, one of the singer’s biggest songs of all time. 

Harry Styles, Calvin Harris and Conor Kennedy, the son of HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr, all also dated Swift in the early 2010s. 

She additionally had a high-profile romance with British actor, Tom Hiddleston, in mid-to-late 2016. 

Swift’s longest relationship was with Joe Alwyn, another UK actor whom she was with for nearly six years, from 2017 to 2023. 

She then enjoyed a fling with British musician Matty Healey, with ended after less than two months. 

Just a short time later, she would meet the man she would go on to marry.  

Kelce, for his part, has a less-colorful romantic past than Swift. The tight end dated broadcaster and content creator Kayla Nicole on-and-off for five years until their split in 2022.
