The head of healthcare reviews the final draft of the Authority’s strategy for the next five years

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, President of the General Authority for Health Care and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, held a meeting to review the final draft of the Authority’s strategy for the next five years, which will be officially announced during the Authority’s sixth annual meeting on November 26, 2025.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Sabki reviewed the final version of the new strategy, which includes a comprehensive update of the procedural work guides and references for measuring performance and defining responsibilities in accordance with international best practices. In order to enhance data-driven governance and management.

Dr. Al-Sabki indicated the completion of the preparation of 133 strategic performance indicators in partnership with international experts and with the support of the French Development Agency (AFD), stressing that these indicators are linked to six strategic objectives and are a modern roadmap for developing the information governance and management system within the authority.

He added that unifying performance indicators at the level of the authority, its branches and health facilities in the comprehensive health insurance governorates enhances justice and establishes standards of transparency and accountability. He explained that the new indicators will be applied uniformly to all departments and branches to ensure improved quality of services and enhance institutional efficiency.

He also pointed out that the preparation of this strategy came after a series of workshops and extensive meetings in which the authority’s leaders and work teams in various departments participated, in addition to the support and guidance of international experts, with the aim of building an integrated model for information management and linking performance indicators to mechanisms for development and continuous improvement.

The international experts confirmed that the new performance indicators for the care authority represent an advanced model that reflects commitment to governance and global standards, It is considered a short- and long-term roadmap for developing the health system, including files including human capacity building, digital transformation, and improving institutional performance.

Dr. Al-Sabki concluded the meeting by stressing that the new strategy represents a qualitative stage in the authority’s institutional development process, noting that the next stage will witness comprehensive training for all work teams on applying the indicator system and integrating it into the digital transformation and decision support systems within the authority.

The meeting was attended by international experts Dr. Jonathan France and Dr. Ahmed Salim, along with A number of the authority’s leaders concerned with strategic planning and performance indicators.
