Today show star’s awkward response to Samantha Armytage replacing Sarah Abo on the breakfast program as both women avoid each other on the red carpet at the Nine Upfronts

Channel Nine’s biggest stars were out in force for the Nine Upfronts in Sydney on Wednesday.
And there was one question that saw A-listers scrambling for a response – is Samantha Armytage replacing Sarah Abo on the Today show?
The query was put to Today Extra host Sylvia Jeffreys, who had a rather awkward reply.
‘I’m sure you can speak to the bosses,’ the 39-year-old told Daily Mail, before making a swift exit.
Abo herself skilfully avoided red carpet interviews, slinking into the venue wearing a terse smile.
The television host ensured she didn’t run into Armytage, either – making her way inside quickly before joining ranks with her Today show co-stars.
Channel Nine’s biggest stars were out in force for the Nine Upfronts in Sydney on Wednesday. There was one question that saw multiple A-listers scrambling for a response – is Samantha Armytage replacing Sarah Abo (pictured alongside Karl Stefanovic) on the Today show?

The woman of the hour, Armytage (pictured) put on a glamorous display, proving she is very much ready for her close up
The 39-year-old arrived dressed casually for Nine’s night of nights in a pair of black jeans and a tucked-in white shirt.
Inside the venue, she changed into a head-turning bright pink frock in a boxy, 1980s-style cut and strappy black heels.
Abo later posed alongside the Today cast, including Richard Wilkins and Karl Stefanonic, who put on a united front on the red carpet by sticking by her side – arms linked and all.
Stefvanovic sent a message by staying close to Albo, later seen outside the venue with a comforting arm on her waist.
Sylvia opted for a chic look in a smart navy vest and matching, wide-cut trousers with white heels.
She may not have wanted to comment on the future of the Today show when it comes to Abo’s hosting role, but there was good news for Sylvia at the upfronts.
It was announced that she will be leading the Olympics and Paralympics coverage alongside Ally Langdon, James Bracey, Leila McKinnon and Todd Woodbridge.
Staying in Sydney, Sylvia will be joined by Dylan Alcott to cover the morning shift in a state-of-the-art set.
Meanwhile, the woman of the hour, Sam Armytage, put on a glamorous display, proving she is very much ready for her close up.

The radiant TV veteran, 49, ensured all eyes were on her in her first official outing as the new host of The Golden Bachelor host.
Sam showed off her trimmed-down figure in a black jumpsuit with a sleeveless bodice and a loose cut in the legs, as well as strappy heels.
She accessorised her look with golden bracelets, and wore her blonde locks in natural beach waves.
Sam did not speak on reports that Today could be set for a major shake-up in a bid to win the breakfast television wars.
Nine is said to be in ‘secret talks’ to replace Karl’s Today co-host since 2023 with A-list ‘prestige’ presenter Armytage.
The casting shakeup is a ‘desperate bid to wrestle the TV breakfast crown from Seven’s rival Sunrise,’ The Australian reported on Sunday.
Armytage, 49, and Stefanovic, 51, are being slated as the ‘dream team’ that could see Today topple Sunrise’s domination in the morning show ratings.
The network is banking on the ‘Armytage effect’ which saw Sunrise score a ratings victory when Armytage joined the program in 2013.

Amber Sherlock was mellow in a pale yellow blouse and pencil skirt set paired with nude heels.
