Under-pressure New York Jets coach Aaron Glenn slammed by fans after making glaring error in halftime interview

NFL fans have brutally ripped into New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn after he seemingly made a glaring error during his halftime interview.

At the midway break of the Jets’ clash against the New England Patriots on Sunday, Glenn took a moment to reflect on the action during a sideline interview with CBS.

Looking ahead to the second half, Glenn claimed: ‘The good thing is, we get the ball. We get a chance to go move it and finish.’

However, once the action got back underway at Gillette Stadium, fans pointed out that the Jets, in fact, did not get the ball to begin the half.

The embarrassing blunder was immediately picked up on by social media users, who took the opportunity to poke fun at the under-pressure Jets coach.

One user on X wrote: ‘Not knowing who gets the ball to start the half is a rough one.’

‘Well he should’ve been fired months ago so whatever,’ another fan wrote online.

‘How is he still the head coach!?!??’, another bewildered fan asked.

Meanwhile, one fan said: ‘There’s genuinely nobody worse than this guy.’

However, some fans claimed that Glenn was suggesting that the defense needed to get the ball back – though if he did mean that, it certainly didn’t sound like it.

Glenn and the Jets fell to their fourth defeat of the season on Sunday after losing 26-19 to the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.

Drake Maye led the way for the hosts, completing 18-of-32 for 235 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions (plus four carries for 24 yards).

After a difficult start to the season, Maye has become just the fifth quarterback in franchise history to throw three touchdown passes in three consecutive games.

Glenn, meanwhile, previously made headlines back in February after appearing to fall asleep while at the NFL Combine.

Glenn was shown on the big screen in Indianapolis while edge rusher David Bailey was getting ready to run the 40-yard dash.

And incredibly, he appeared to be getting some shut-eye up in the stands as Bailey prepared for his attempt.

After opening his eyes and seemingly noticing he was on the big screen, the 54-year-old looked slightly startled as he watched the edge rusher go through the gears.

While he may have simply been looking down at a screen, it didn’t take long for Glenn to become the butt of the jokes on social media.
