Cold treatment mistakes

When treating the common cold, it’s a risk to get involved with vasoconstrictor drugs because of the risk of drug-induced rhinitis, according to the chief of otolaryngology at Stupino Hospital, Irina Lukina.

“With self-medication, one should not overdo it with vasoconstrictor drugs. They can be used for no more than 5-7 days, otherwise drug-induced rhinitis may occur. “

Lukina also advises to be careful with traditional methods of treating a cold such as warming the nose with salt, as this will only complicate the course of the disease.

She stressed that if self-treatment does not help, you should consult a doctor.
