Malta appoints a special representative to Libya

Malta has appointed its former prison director, Alex Daly, as the government’s special representative in Libya, to handle national security issues, including illegal immigration.

“Daly was appointed based on his extensive experience in the armed forces,” said Maltese Interior Minister Byron Camilleri.

He also indicated that he will participate in the Migration Coordination Center, as part of the agreement signed between the two countries on illegal immigration.
