North Korea warns US of ‘strong response’ to sanctions

North Korea has warned that the response to US sanctions over the missile launches will be “harsh”. According to Yonhap, referring to North Korean media.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea said that the missile launch is a right of self-defense.

“If the United States continues to take a confrontational stance, the DPRK will be forced to take stronger and more specific retaliatory measures,” the ministry said in a statement.

The US Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Linda Thomas Greenfield, said that Washington had proposed imposing new sanctions on Pyongyang over its series of ballistic missile launches.
