American actor Johnny Depp will play French King Louis XV in a new film directed by Maywin.
Filming is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2022. The film will be shot in various locations in Paris, especially at the Palace of Versailles.
The film is produced by Why Not Productions, France. The title and plot of the movie are still kept secret.
The film’s director, Maiwenn, is also co-starring in the shooting. She will play Countess Jeanne de Bary, the last mistress of Louis XV.
Louis XV, nicknamed the Beloved, ruled in France for 59 years. His reign is considered one of the longest reigns in world history.
Depp has previously spoken out against cancellation culture, considering it “out of control”.
The actor has lost roles in several major projects, including the Pirates of the Caribbean and Fantastic Beasts franchises, due to accusations from his ex-wife Amber Heard and related legal battles. After parting, the actress said that her ex-husband allowed himself to be beaten, and Depp himself denies this in every possible way.
