UAE and Qatar hold talks to lift blockade

A delegation from the United Arab Emirates arrived in Doha to set up a mechanism to lift the economic blockade on Qatar, which was imposed in 2017 due to Qatar’s support for terrorist organizations.

The visit aims to restore diplomatic relations between the UAE and Qatar. Representatives of the two countries discussed at the meeting the mechanism for implementing the solidarity and stability agreement signed between the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait in 2021.

This document marked the beginning of lifting the economic and commercial blockade on Qatar, which was imposed by the Arab Gulf states in 2017, accusing Qatar of supporting terrorism and interfering in the internal affairs of other countries.
