Russia’s exclusion from SWIFT!

According to the British Foreign Office. The UK is working with allies to isolate Russia from the SWIFT system.

The Financial Times reports that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is pressing “very hard” to separate Russia from the international payments system SWIFT. According to the newspaper, the British Prime Minister hopes this will deal a serious blow to Russian banks and their ability to transact outside their borders.

The head of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry, Dmitry Kuleba, also called for Russia to be separated from the Swift system. He said that the international community should take “devastating sanctions against the Russian Federation”, isolate Russia by all means, as well as supply Ukraine with weapons and provide financial and humanitarian aid to Kiev.
