Gas prices break records, exceed $2,200

The cost of natural gas in Europe broke records in 2021 and exceeded $2,200 per thousand cubic metres.

According to the London Stock Exchange ICE. One thousand cubic meters of resources were traded for delivery in April at $2,202 on Dutch TTF Centre. Since the opening of trading on Wednesday, the price of gas has increased by more than 51%.

The current price of fuel is the absolute maximum in the trading history. The previous record of $2,190 was set in December 2021.

Gas prices in Europe began to rise against the background of recent sanctions against Russia, as well as reports of foreign companies about withdrawing from joint ventures with Russia.
