ILO suspends cooperation with Russia

The International Labor Organization (ILO) has announced a temporary halt to cooperation with Russia due to the situation with Ukraine. TASS reported with reference to the organization’s statement.

“The International Labor Organization has decided to temporarily suspend technical cooperation or Russian organized assistance, except for humanitarian assistance, until a ceasefire is agreed and a peace settlement is implemented,” the organization said in a statement.

The International Labor Organization is the United Nations agency that deals with the regulation of labor relations. The main objectives of the ILO define the promotion of social and economic progress, the improvement of people’s welfare and the improvement of their working conditions, as well as the protection of human rights.
