3 useful properties of vitamin C for the child’s body

The balance of elements and vitamins is of particular importance for the child, in which the necessary protective functions for maintaining health in the future are laid.

Nutritionist Mikhail Ginzburg told Gazzetta that vitamin C enhances iron absorption, collagen synthesis, and stimulates and maintains the immune system.

The human body does not produce vitamin C, it only comes from food. According to Mikhail Ginzburg, there are no scientific studies confirming its effectiveness in combating viral diseases.

“We don’t quite know if vitamin C can extend life or avoid cancer, it should work this way, but we don’t have evidence for that,” Ginsburg said. “Vitamin C has been shown to improve immunity, but attempts to play on this and drink large doses have not worked.” to anything in studies.”

However, it is known for certain that a deficiency of this vitamin can lead to gum problems, and in infants cause growth retardation.

Vitamin C is involved in many biochemical reactions, for example, in the synthesis of collagen – one of the main components of joints, bones, hair and skin. This vitamin also improves iron absorption.

Ginsburg added, “Iron is necessary for a child for proper growth, and collagen is essential for children to build and develop the skeletons of the body. Vitamin C in sufficient quantity supports the immune system. However, we cannot recommend taking it in high doses.”

Most vitamin C is found in citrus fruits, fresh berries, herbs, and peppers.
