The media reported that the suspect in the shooting at the 36th Street subway station in Brooklyn on April 12, 62-year-old Frank James, had been arrested several times before by police.

According to ABC7ny, authorities have not found any major criminal arrests in James’ history, only a string of misdemeanour charges. James was already on police lists of crimes from 1992 to 1998, and was arrested nine times.

According to NYPD Chief Detective James Essig, the man has previously been arrested nine times in New York and three times in New Jersey, as determined by USA Today. According to Isig, James has not been convicted of any felonies.

The police arrested him on charges of possession of shredding tools, breach of security and theft.

A man opened fire in a New York subway on the morning of April 12. Before that, he opened the canister from which the smoke came out, and then began shooting and chasing the passengers. As a result, 23 people were injured. Police later found a car that James rented in Philadelphia, a few miles from the scene of the shooting.

He was arrested in New York the next day. The man has been charged with terrorism, however, according to New York Eastern District attorney Bron Pace, the motive for the act remains unclear and there is no indication that James is associated with terrorist organizations.
