4 people were killed and 30 injured in the US state of Oklahoma as a result of tornadoes

Oklahoma, April 29 / WAM / At least four people were killed, including an infant, and 30 others were injured during the past two days as a result of severe tornadoes that struck the state of Oklahoma, located in the south-central United States of America.
Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt said in a press conference that the town of Sulfur was the most affected by the tornadoes witnessed in Murray County in southern Oklahoma, pointing out that the tornadoes caused a number of homes and buildings to be leveled, declaring a state of emergency in the state.
For its part, the White House said in a statement yesterday, Sunday, that President Joe Biden, in a call with the Governor of Oklahoma, offered the federal government’s full support to assist in recovery efforts.
The National Weather Service issued storm warnings for high winds, heavy rain and hail for more than 47 million people in areas extending from eastern Texas northward through Illinois and Wisconsin.
The agency stated that 38 potential tornadoes struck the region, and that the worst storms passed through central Oklahoma on Saturday until early Sunday morning, and extended into northwest Texas, western Missouri and Kansas.
The tornadoes destroyed or damaged dozens of buildings, including a hospital in the town of Marietta, and more than 20,000 customers in the state remained without power until the evening.
