Bulgarian Energy and Foreign Minister Resigns

Bulgarian Energy and Foreign Ministers Alexander Nikolov and Teodora Genshovskaya submitted their resignations in connection with the decision of the party “There is such a people” to refuse to participate in the work of the coalition government, citing the press services of the ministries.

Earlier, the country’s Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Radostin Vasiliev and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development Grozdan Karagov submitted their resignations.

On June 8, the leader of the party “There is such a people” Slavy Trifonov announced the withdrawal of the party from the ruling coalition. In addition, he recalled his ministers from the government.

A possible solution out of the situation may be the replacement of ministers, who must be approved by Parliament, or the formation of a new government under the existing Parliament. In the event that this fails, the parliament will be dissolved, a technical government will be appointed, and early parliamentary elections will be held.
