NATO plans to increase shipments of MLRS HIMARS to Ukraine

In the coming months, NATO countries intend to increase the supply of HIMARS Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) to Kyiv in order to consolidate the “successes” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Washington Post, citing a European official, reported that politicians in the United States and Europe want defense companies to speed up arms production.

According to the newspaper, the US Department of Defense is convinced that the weapons supplied to Kyiv can have a “significant impact” on what is happening in Ukraine.

On July 20, the commander of the Ukrainian armed forces, Valery Zaluzhny, said that US HIMARS missile systems are helping to “stabilize” Ukrainian efforts to control the front line against Russian forces.

John Kirby, the strategic communications coordinator at the White House National Security Council, also announced yesterday that the United States will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package this week, which will include HIMARS MLRS and ammunition, as well as artillery shells.
