US school board candidate calls for doctors who help transgender children to be hanged

Elizabeth Janay Lancaster, a candidate for the Santa Rosa County School Board, has called for the hanging of doctors who provide assistance to transgender children with the goal of instilling positive attitudes about their sexual choices.

“Doctors who mutilate children and prescribe hormones, in my opinion, should hang from the nearest tree,” Lancaster said.

The woman added that she opposes “social engineering projects” and “ideologies” that have nothing to do with the curriculum. As an example, she cited critical racial theory, whose proponents argue that race is a socially constructed category used to oppress and exploit “people of color.”

During her talk, Lancaster also described herself as a conservative, mother and grandmother, noting that she adheres to Christian values and beliefs.
