White House rules out temporarily transferring power to Vice President Kamala Harris

White House Press Secretary Karen Jean-Pierre said that the administration of US President Joe Biden does not yet see any need to temporarily transfer the powers of the head of state to Vice President Kamala Harris, amid the US leader’s illness with the Corona virus.

“He is able to handle the affairs of the American people from his residence. That is what matters now.”

Ignoring the clarifying question for reporters about whether the White House as a whole is considering the option of transferring powers to Harris in the event Biden’s condition deteriorates, Jean-Pierre, speaking about the state of the President of the United States, stressed that the politician is currently experiencing “mild symptoms.”

At the same time, according to the US Constitution, if the head of state suddenly fails to perform his duties, then power in the country will temporarily pass to the vice president, that is, Kamala Harris. In fact, in November last year, she actually received the proper authority for about an hour, while Biden was under sedation during a medical procedure.
