North Korea mined an inter-Korean road in the demilitarized zone

North Korea has mined an inter-Korean road in the demilitarized zone that separates North and South Korea. Yonhap reported this with reference to a source.

According to the agency’s interlocutor, at the end of last year the South Korean military for the first time discoveredthat North Korea is planting mines about 85 kilometers from Seoul on a road inside the demilitarized zone.

In January, North Korean troops were spotted on two more roads, and in March, South Korean officials discovered that North Korea had removed dozens of street lights along the roads.

The road between the two countries was built in accordance with the 2018 inter-Korean military agreement. Then Seoul and Pyongyang made joint efforts to search for the remains of those killed during the Korean War of 1950-1953.

At the beginning of the year, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un called abandon the idea of ​​reunification with South Korea and called Seoul his main enemy. According to the North Korean leader, South Korea has been pursuing a policy of confrontation for almost 80 years in order to overthrow the regime and system of the DPRK.

Pyongyang has eliminated several government departments that were involved in promoting cooperation with South Korea.
