Urgent.. President Sisi is following the government’s efforts to support the private sector’s participation in health investment
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Counselor Omar Marwan, Minister of Justice, and Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar Minister of Health and Population.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Counselor Dr. Ahmed Fahmy said that the President followed the government’s efforts to support the private sector’s participation in investment In the health sector, and increasing investment flows in the field of health, where mechanisms for following up on investors’ obligations to establish, develop, manage and operate health facilities, and the necessary legislative frameworks in this regard, were reviewed. The President directed the rapid completion of the required legislative steps, to facilitate the participation of the private sector in the health system, In a way that enhances its current capabilities and raises its absorptive capacity, and the quality and efficiency of health services in general.
The President also reviewed the completion rates of a number of national projects in the health sector, where the executive position was presented regarding the opening of the first branch in Egypt of the French Gustave Rousset Institute in partnership with Al-Salam Hospital, as well as the development of the medical city at the Nasser Institute (Nile Medical City), and the laboratories project. Central Badr City, and the latest developments in the Medical City for educational institutes. The President has directed that the needs of relevant national projects be provided, within the framework of the state’s plan to expand the provision of health services to citizens, in a way that accelerates the state’s efforts to implement comprehensive health insurance coverage.
The official spokesman added that the executive steps to support and localize the pharmaceutical industry were also reviewed, in addition to opening new areas for exporting Egyptian medicine, as well as the current position of presidential initiatives, especially the presidential initiative to eliminate waiting lists, as Mr. President directed to provide the necessary financial support in this regard, and to increase Completion rates in the initiative to eliminate waiting lists, while continuing to provide health support to our brothers in the Gaza Strip, to alleviate the severity of the humanitarian and health crisis that the people of the Strip are suffering from.
