Commission of inquiry into TNT: deputy Quentin Bataillon called to order after his appearance in "Do not touch My TV"

Several left-wing parliamentarians demanded on Wednesday April 3 the departure of MP Quentin Bataillon from the presidency of the commission of inquiry into TNT frequencies. The day before, the Renaissance representative took stock of his work on the C8 channel, on the set of the program “Touche pas à mon poste” hosted by Cyril Hanouna, who himself was interviewed by this commission.

The President of the National Assembly Yaël Braun-Pivet reacted to this participation in a program on the C8 channel, whose boss Vincent Bolloré was himself heard by the commission. In a press release, she called for the president, like all the members of the commission, to “show reserve and discernment in their positions and public expressions, in order to guarantee the serenity of the work and the credibility of the investigations”.

“The president of the commission of inquiry on TNT covers Hanouna, despite being widely sanctioned by Arcom. (…) Quentin Bataillon is disqualified, he can no longer chair this commission”estimated Manuel Bompard, coordinator of La France insoumise, on the social network. For his part, the first secretary of the Socialist Party, Olivier Faure, judged that the elected official should be “removed from duty”.

Member of this commission of inquiry, the deputy for Val-de-Marne Sophie Taillé-Polian announced that she had contacted the ethics officer of the Assembly. “The Environmentalists and I condemn the inappropriate behavior of Quentin Bataillon”she emphasizes on. “We demand his dismissal so that another president can be appointed to conclude the work of the commission of inquiry”.
