Italian Foreign Minister: Dialogue with Moscow is almost impossible

The Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Antonio Taiani, confirmed that in light of the ongoing war in Ukraine, dialogue with the Russian Federation has become difficult, if not impossible.

 

He said Tayani – in statements on the sidelines of the NATO ministerial meeting on Thursday in Brussels, which also addressed the issue of relations with the Kremlin, according to the Italian news agency (AKI): “We strongly criticize Russia and condemn the choices it has made, but we hope that peace will return in As soon as possible, and also to resume the positive relationship with Russia.”

According to Tayani, “Russia will be an interlocutor in the future,” and he said: “It is a great country, but at this moment we strongly condemn what it is doing in Ukraine. War crimes have been committed.”
