Energy facilities in four regions of Ukraine came under Russian attack

On the night of April 11, the Russian military attacked Ukraine with attack drones and missiles. An air raid alert was declared throughout the country.

According to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko, energy facilities in the Kharkov, Kyiv, Zaporozhye and Lviv regions came under attack.

The head of the Kharkov regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, clarified that at least ten strikes were carried out on the critical infrastructure of the city of Kharkov and the region. “There may be power outages. At the moment, there has been no information about casualties. The data is being updated,” writes Sinegubov.

According to authorities, more than 200 thousand subscribers in the Kharkov region were left without power supply.

Mayor Igor Terekhov also reported on the explosions in Kharkov. There may be problems with the power supply. The metro will not work for the next few hours, he warned.

Air defense systems are operating in Kyiv, the Kiev Regional Military Administration reported. The head of the Zaporozhye regional administration, Ivan Fedorov, also reported the explosions.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that 37 out of 40 Russian attack drones were shot down at night.

Over the past few weeks, the Russian military has been striking energy facilities in Ukraine almost daily. As a result of these attacks, according to Energy Minister German Galushchenko, up to 80 percent of thermal power plants and more than half of Ukraine’s hydroelectric power plants were damaged.
