“You’re a crook!”, which bothered her when she first started on TV

It was the host Christine Bravo who set foot in Nikos Aliagas’s stirrup, on the small French screen. And she remembers their meeting very well… She even called the presenter a “crook”. But why ?

Sometimes there are encounters that mark you forever! Recently, C8 unveiled a new documentary series behind the scenes of television: Television: your merciless universe. This Saturday, April 20, the third episode of this program was broadcast. Christine Bravo detailed her vision, not always very positive, of this environment. She notably recounted her very first meeting with one of the French’s favorite presenters, Nikos Aliagas.

“Stop, you’re a crook!” : the eventful meeting of Christine Bravo and Nikos

Did you know ? Before animating flagship programs from TF1, such as star Academy, 50’Inside or The Voice, Nikos Aliagas was a journalist and presented some television news. His career as a host having, in a way, begun on the airwaves of France 2, in the show Free Union presented by Christine Bravo. A program during which the television woman, now 67 years old, included columnists from all over Europe. Nikos obviously represented Greece there.

For C8, Christine Bravo therefore happily remembered the casting of the current loyal gentleman from TF1. “I say to him: ‘Nikos, he’s very good but it’s not possible’. He says to me ‘Why?’. ‘Because he doesn’t have the accent!’”, she said, hilarious. That day, Nikos did his casting again, but this time imitating a Greek accent!

“He starts speaking French with a Greek accent that cuts with a knife and, then, I burst out laughing. I tell him, ‘No, stop, you’re a crook!’”. Before adding: “The guy, he was born in Paris – of course his parents are Greek and he speaks Greek – but he doesn’t have an accent, he was born in France”. A sleight of hand which still allowed young Nikos Aliagas to get the job!

Christine Bravo and Christophe Dechavanne: “It couldn’t work”

In the process, Christine Bravo also recounted her first exchange with the principal concerned. “He told me: ‘But I’m warning you: I’ll never wear a skirt, I’ll never do the eagle dance and all that stuff'”, she said. Before concluding, a smirk: “Yes that’s it… The guy ended up with feathers in his ass”.

The former sidekick of Laurent Ruquier also took the opportunity to return to her collaboration, brief but intense, with Christophe Dechavanne in the program Heaven my Tuesday!. “He was great on TV. He had an incredible relationship with the camera (…) But no gang spirit”she began. “It was he who wanted me to go, who insisted, who taught me the antenna and, when I became a little visible, he liked it a little less. And it must be said that I I have a character and so does he so it couldn’t fit.”she finally confided in complete transparency.
