"Industry and advanced technology" Announces the extension of the award nomination period "Made in UAE" Until May 1

Dubai, April 26 / WAM / The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology announced the extension of the nomination period for the “Make in the Emirates” Awards in its second edition from April 26, which was the date previously set, to May 1, 2024, with the aim of providing the opportunity to the largest number of companies operating and individuals in the sector. Industrialists in the UAE and those wishing to participate.
The first edition of the awards was held in 2023 during the second session of the “Make in the Emirates” Forum, where these awards celebrated the visionaries, talents, innovators, industrialists and sustainability pioneers in the industrial sector who support the transformation of the UAE into a global center for industry, and strengthen its position among the industrialized countries.
The awards in 2024 are divided into 10 categories that fall under 5 main classifications: national content, sustainability, factory of the future, industrial enablers, strategic partners, leadership and talent.
The Ministry announced the opening of nominations as of February 22, and candidates will be contacted between April 22 and May 8, and the winners will be announced in a special ceremony within the activities of the annual “Made in the Emirates” Forum, whose third session will be held on May 27 and 28, 2024. In Abu Dhabi, in the presence of senior industry leaders, government officials, investors and financial institutions.
The awards are an essential part of the Ministry’s efforts to enhance the competitive environment and motivate companies to take the initiative to adopt best practices and advanced technologies and improve their competitive capabilities locally, regionally and globally. They come in line with the National Strategy for Advanced Industry and Technology and the “Made in the Emirates” initiative.
The “Make in the Emirates” Forum was launched in 2022 as one of the pillars of the “Make in the Emirates” initiative under the umbrella of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, which aims to make the UAE a global industrial center, and serves as an invitation to local and international investors, industrialists and innovators to benefit from the advantages of investment. In the industrial sector in the UAE, in addition to enhancing investment in technology and future industries.

In its second session last year, the forum witnessed the attendance of more than 5,000 industrial sector leaders, and additional purchasing opportunities worth 10 billion dirhams were announced, bringing the total value of purchasing opportunities announced in the forum to 120 billion dirhams, making the forum the most important industrial platform in the region. Any company or individual in the UAE that meets the specified criteria can apply for the awards in 10 categories. These categories are:
1- Excellence in national content, which falls under 3 subcategories:
• Private sector manufacturers.
• Semi-government sector manufacturers.
• Service providers.

2- Sustainability includes one category, which is the Sustainable Industry Award.

3- Factories of the Future, which includes two sub-categories: the Smart Industry Award and the Excellence in Innovation Award.

4- Industrial Enablers and Strategic Partners, which includes two sub-categories: the Best Enabler Award and a Strategic Partner in the Industrial Sector and the Quality Standards Award.

5-Leadership and talent:
• Best Young Talent of the Year Award.
• Inspiring Pioneer Award.
