Gulf praise for Roor "UAE 2024" In supporting the future of Olympic sports

Dubai, April 26 / WAM / Representatives of the Saudi and Qatari Olympic Committees praised the UAE’s good organization of the first Gulf Youth Games, “UAE 2024”.
The UAE will host the first edition of the Gulf Youth Games during the period from April 16 to May 2, under the slogan “Our Gulf is One… Our Youth is Promising,” with the participation of 3,500 male and female athletes in 24 individual and team sports.

His Excellency Abdulaziz Baeshen, CEO and Secretary General of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, stressed that the UAE’s good organization will reflect positively on the level of competitions.
He said, “We thank the UAE for its good hosting and the Gulf gathering, which will reflect positively on the level of all participating games and sports for its contribution to creating champions in the future.”
He explained that the various sports federations in Saudi Arabia were keen to nominate their best players to participate in the first Gulf Youth Games, through the competitions that preceded the tournament.
He expressed his happiness with the distinguished performance of the youth of the Saudi teams, along with the other Gulf teams participating in the event, which was distinguished by the presence of sportsmanship and fair competition between the various players.
Meanwhile, His Excellency Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, praised the opening ceremony of the session, which was distinguished and embodied the cohesion between the people of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the development of the Olympic and sports movement in it.
He said, “The Qatari participation in the tournament, which consists of 22 team and individual sports, came within the framework of the Qatar Olympic Committee’s keenness to be with the brothers in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in this youth sports forum and to contribute to its success and produce it in the best possible way.”
He explained that the primary goal of participating in this tournament is not to obtain medals as much as to prepare young athletes for future tournaments, most notably the “Doha 2030” Asian Games, in line with the team preparation strategy launched by the Qatar Olympic Committee to support and develop federations and athletes and raise the level of performance in the “Doha Asiad.” “2030.
