Chadians cast their votes to elect a president from among 10 candidates

N’Djamena, 6 May / WAM / Voters in Chad went to the polls today, to cast their votes in the presidential elections in which current President Mohamed Idriss Deby is competing with current Prime Minister Sosis Masra and former Prime Minister Albert Bahimi Badaki, in addition to seven other candidates, including a woman. .

The number of voters eligible to vote is about 8.5 million people.
Polling centers opened their doors at seven in the morning local time and closed at five in the evening. Preliminary results are expected to appear by May 21, and final results on June 5.

If no candidate obtains more than 50 percent of the votes, a second round will be held on June 22.
