Mohammed bin Rashid issues a decision to reconstitute the board of directors of the digital school

DUBAI, 6 MAY / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister, may God protect him, in his capacity as Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, issued Resolution No. 2 of 2024 to reconstitute the Board of Directors of the Digital School, one of the initiatives of the “Mohammed Initiatives Foundation.” Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International.
The Board of Directors of the Digital School, according to the decision, includes His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, as Chairman of the Council, and the membership of: His Excellency Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, and His Excellency Hoda Al Hashemi, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, His Excellency Sultan Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations Affairs, Her Excellency Aisha Abdullah Miran, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, Dr. Muhammad Qasim Khudair Qasim, Dean of the Dubai Future Academy, and Dr. Walid Al Ali, Senior Advisor At the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation.
The Council’s work extends for 3 years from the date of issuance of the decision, and if the period expires, the members will continue their duties until they are reappointed or a new board of directors is appointed for the digital school, while the Board of Directors assumes the duties of managing the digital school in accordance with the procedures stipulated in the school’s statute.
The digital school, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, in November 2020, is the first integrated digital school of its kind, and aims to empower students with digital learning options in areas where they are not available. It provides the conditions or components for students to pursue their education, and it also provides a qualitative option for blended learning and distance learning in a smart and flexible way, targeting the less fortunate societal groups.
The school adopts a comprehensive approach to digital transformation in education, which is based on expanding opportunities through digital learning options, especially in remote and developing areas that are less fortunate. The school continues to expand, as it has included more than 160,000 beneficiary students and provides its services in more than 13 countries. It has also trained more than 2,500 digital teachers, while educational and training content is provided in four languages: Arabic, English, French, and Spanish.
