Unmasked: Former Beauty and the Geek star accused of grisly murder of her partner in Port Lincoln is identified

The head of the man allegedly murdered by Former Beauty and the Geek star Tamika Chesser is missing as new details about the grisly crime scene are revealed.

Chesser was arrested on Thursday after police responded to reports of a small fire at the South Australia home she shared with boyfriend Julian Daniel Story. 

But when emergency services arrived, they found Mr Story dead inside. Chesser was arrested at the scene and later charged with murder.

She was also charged with knowingly performing an act or omission intending to result in human remains being less likely to be found for the purposes of concealing the commission of an offence relating to the human remains. 

Chesser was also charged with one count of assaulting police, court records state.  

Detective Darren Fielke told a press conference it was ‘crucial’ Mr Story’s head was returned to his family so they could hold a funeral. 

‘We have not recovered the head of Julian Story,’ he told reporters. 

Mr Story’s remains were found in a disfigured state on the bathroom floor of the apartment, court documents seen by The Advertiser have revealed. 

A neighbour noticed black smoke coming from the property about 1.30pm on June 19 and asked Chesser, who appeared outside, what she was doing. 

‘Nothing,’ she allegedly replied, before taking her dogs for a walk.   

The neighbour grew concerned about the fire and took a bucket of water over to the home, entering through the back door, the documents state. 

In the bathroom, he was met with a bundle of clothing rags and debris which he doused with two buckets of water before calling first responders.  

Chesser’s identity was revealed on Friday after Magistrate Ben Sale lifted a suppression order on her name and image. 

The young Queensland woman sported a shaved head as she appeared in court via a video link from James Nash House, a mental health facility. 

She first appeared in court last week, where she was refused bail. A committal hearing has been scheduled for December. 

Chesser was the runner-up on the 2010 season of Beauty and the Geek.

She later modelled for men’s magazines including Playboy, Ralph and FHM under the name ‘Mike Chesser’. 

Her social media accounts featured a mish mash of racy modelling photos and spirituality-themed posts.

‘Our Creator our Father and our Mother Nature our Earth are crying out to us all,’ she wrote in June 2024.

‘What do you think your ancestors would say in regards to the life you’re currently living? Would they be proud?’ 

South Australian Police will allege Chesser murdered Mr Story sometime between June 16 and June 19. 

SA Police Assistant Commissioner Ian Parrott said last Friday the scene officers found a day earlier was ‘complex’ and Mr Story’s cause of death wasn’t yet known. 

The revelation comes after bizarre images emerged of Chesser standing topless on the Port Lincoln war memorial, just weeks before she was charged with murder. 

Chesser was wearing a white wedding dress-style veil and stood motionless and silent in the eerie footage obtained by a passerby and broadcast on Seven News.

She was also holding what appeared to be a sharp, pointed object.   

Neighbours said Mr Story’s death had rocked their community. One said he would often see Chesser in passing on local streets.

He said she was in a relationship with Mr Story and had moved into his unit several months ago.

‘She seemed normal, she was good,’ the neighbour said. 

‘It’s devastating. This doesn’t happen in a small town like Port Lincoln.’
