Hawks young and old are the difference so far to half-time, giving the visitors a 15-point edge over in-form Fremantle in Perth.
Ageless spearhead Jack Gunston is on career-best pace with eight marks and five goals from seven scoring shots, while his little mate, “the Wizard”, Nick Watson, has been his electric self with three goals. Watson’s defensive pressure has also been outstanding, with Jai Newcombe, Cam Mackenzie, Conor Nash and even Jack Ginnivan playing prominent roles.
It’s not all good news, though, with key defender and ex-Eagle Tom Barrass suffering a left hamstring injury. Caleb Serong and Andrew Brayshaw are doing what they can to keep the Dockers afloat, but they are failing to place enough pressure on the Hawks’ ball movement tonight.
