Big Brother Australia Warns Of ‘Fraudulent’ Email Scam Telling Fans They Were Cast

Big Brother Australia has issued an alert asking fans to be wary of an email scam telling them they’ve progressed to the next stage of casting for the reality show.

The official social media pages of Big Brother shared the warning on Wednesday, a few days after it was revealed that applications were open for the next batch of Aussie housemates.

“We’ve been made aware of a fraudulent email circulating that invites recipients to attend the next stage of casting for Big Brother,” the message read.

Big Brother Australia said the email, which is sent from the address bigbrotherau2026@gmail.com, instructs fans to “attend a hotel and bring ID documentation along with other things”.

“This is not a legitimate email. This is not an authorised production email and there is no authorised casting call,” the alert said.

Fans were told not to reply to the email, to block the address, and to warn others who may be targeted.

“We have been advised by police that recipients of the email should attend their local police station to report the email,” Big Brother Australia wrote.

Earlier this week, it was announced on social media that Big Brother Australia was casting for its 2026 season, which was greenlit in April.

Big Brother is looking for his newest Housemates,” the show wrote in the open call.

“Chaos starters, scene stealers, and the ones who make every room more interesting! If you’ve got opinions, zero filter and no interest in being boring, you could be the next iconic Housemate everyone’s talking about.”

The 2026 instalment of Big Brother Australia, which is reportedly set to premiere later this year, will mark the show’s 17th season overall, and the first since last year’s Channel 10 reboot that ended a years-long hiatus.

Mel Tracina will return as host to wrangle the collection of new housemates, one of which could be you if you play the casting process right. Just don’t go to any hotels!
