Midwest mother is charged with murdering two-year-old son at $1m mansion in case likened by neighbor to Lindsay Clancy
The mother of a two-year-old boy has been charged with his murder after what police described as a ‘domestic homicide incident’ inside their Illinois home.
Corie A. Walsh, 38, was charged with three counts of first degree murder following the horror that unfolded inside her $1 million home in Frankfort on Tuesday.
In a statement, Frankfort Police Chief Leanne Chelepis confirmed the charges while saying that she is being held in custody while she awaits medical treatment.

Walsh was taken from the scene and rushed to hospital after officers found her attempting self-harm inside the address.
The toddler was also taken to hospital, but was tragically pronounced dead a short time later. Details of how the child was killed are unclear.
According to Chief Chelepis, Walsh will be transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility to await a detention hearing once she is released from hospital.
She added: ‘Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, their loved ones, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.
‘We ask our community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers and to respect their privacy as they navigate this profoundly difficult time.’
Neighbors said earlier this week that they were stunned by the tragedy, with resident Carolyn Pappas said the case bears eerie similarities to the case of Lindsay Clancy.
Clancy is currently on trial in Massachusetts for murdering her children in a botched suicide attempt.
She told NBC Chicago: ‘This is just absolutely devastating, that this could be another Lindsay Clancy situation in our neighborhood, in our community.
‘You never think it’s going to hit so close to home. That absolutely makes us think of that.
‘And again, just more people I think are struggling than we realize and so we just need to be there for one another.’
