DoorDash customer lambasted after reporting driver for having her children in the car during delivery: ‘Mind your own business’

A DoorDash customer has been lambasted after reporting a driver for bringing her children to complete the delivery.

The public Facebook group titled DoorDash Drivers, which prides itself on ‘supporting free speech,’ is open to everyone ‘including dashers, customers, non-drivers and anyone interested in participating in the topics, discussions, and engagement.’

But it was a recent post by an apparent customer, who also acts as admin for the page, that caused a stir.

Patricia Pearls, from Houston, Texas, brazenly posted to the group’s 80,900 members on Saturday morning.

The content creator, who has thousands of followers across her social media accounts, bluntly wrote: ‘Sorry but I had to, saw three kids in the back [of the car].

‘Reported. Immediately.’

But Pearls, 31, was quickly met with a wave of fury as she was publicly harpooned for her actions.

‘Wow sad! A mother chooses not to sit on welfare and work to support her kids and you do that! You’re pathetic,’ one wrote.

‘Everyone in the world is struggling right now with these outrageous prices – maybe they were trying to do a few deliveries to feed their family, or buy diapers!

‘I don’t care who drops my delivery off as long as I get it! Some of ya’ll are so damn selfish and clueless! Mind your damn business,’ another added.

‘And this is your business… Why????’ a third added.

Others hoped that the post was merely ‘rage bait’ but dozens more piled in to brand Pearls as a ‘snitch’ and ‘a Karen.’

DoorDash’s website listing community guidelines for drivers does not expressly address whether a passenger is permitted.

Instead, it states that only the person with the active, background-checked DoorDash account should complete the delivery, described as picking up or dropping off the order.

More than 13 million people in the US have reportedly driven for DoorDash since it was founded in 2013.

But the side hustle is not for the faint-hearted.

Back in March, an anonymous DoorDash delivery driver uploaded a viral post to Reddit about a patron who demanded he dance the Macarena before delivering a McDonald’s order.

‘Do the Macarena for 10 seconds for an extra $3 tip,’ read the delivery instructions on the in-app screenshot the driver shared. The delivery time was after 12am.

The 30-year-old courier, who went by OnyxLeigion_ online, shared his snarky reaction to the slightly dehumanizing request.

‘You can, in fact, keep your three dollars,’ he wrote. ‘I don’t need to be recorded and posted on the internet for three dollars.’

He completed the delivery without so much as a hip shake, much to the disappointment of the rambunctious teens who made the request.
