Foreign Minister participates in the Egyptian -American Economic Forum

Share Dr. Bader Abdel-Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, on Monday, May 26, at the Egyptian-American Economic Forum for Policy leaders hosted by Cairo under the auspices of the President of the Republic, and in coordination with the American Chamber of Commerce in Washington, in the presence of Susan Clark, President of the Chamber, Omar Muhanna, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, and more than 80 CEOs and senior officials of major American companies ."RTL"> & nbsp;

Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdel -Ati delivered a speech in a special session entitled & quot; strategic relations between Egypt and the United States & quot; in which he praised the depth of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States, noting that economic and commercial relations are considered one of the basic axes on which the strategic partnership between the two countries is based that serves common interests. He stressed that the file of developing economic and trade relations, attracting American investments to Egypt, and strengthening existing investments is a major priority for the Egyptian state ."RTL"> Minister Abdel -Ati expressed aspiration to attract more direct American investments in light of the opportunities provided by the Egyptian market in the various sectors, noting that the Egyptian government is ready in all its institutions to cooperate with American and international companies and ensure that they facilitate their entry into to work in the Egyptian market. In this context, he reviewed the steps and measures recently taken by the state to develop the investment climate and the business environment in Egypt, stressing Egypt’s commitment to implementing economic reforms and giving the private sector the main role in the process of economic development. The Minister also expressed his aspiration for this forum to be a starting point for a series of future events and forums that contribute to deepening economic and investment cooperation between Egypt and the United States Dir ="Ltr">."RTL"> The spokesperson added that Minister Abdel -Ati reviewed the Egyptian position regarding a number of regional challenges facing Egypt, where he dealt with Egypt’s efforts to resume the ceasefire in Gaza and the enforcement of humanitarian aid to the Strip, and the need to reach a permanent and fair political solution to the Palestinian issue. He also dealt with the determinants of the Egyptian position on crises in Sudan, Libya and the Red Sea, where the Foreign Minister stressed that Egypt continues its relentless efforts to achieve peace, security and stability in the region ."RTL"> In his speech, the minister pointed out the repercussions of de -escalation in the Red Sea region on maritime navigation, international trade and supply chains, and contributing to the recovery of the international economy, noting that the resumption of the movement of navigation regularly in the Red Sea and the Suez Canal serves the global economy, especially after a series of geopolitical challenges that affected the movement of navigation and its stability during the recent period, which caused Egypt to endure a great economic cost, highlighting the necessity Treating the root causes of regional conflicts, to maintain the stability of the Red Sea in a sustainable way ."RTL"> At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Abdel -Ati participated in an interactive dialogue session on bilateral relations between Egypt and the United States, and ways to improve economic and investment cooperation between the two countries to wider horizons ."RTL"> & nbsp;
