Hamish Blake Cake Night 2026 Is Here & He Slayed The Brief

Crack open the Tia Maria and put on the footy franks! It’s officially time for Hamish Blake‘s Cake Night, and honestly, this one could give the comedian MasterChef Australia status.

In the 2026 rendition of the iconic Hamish Blake cake night, the beloved entertainment icon confirmed he was tasked with making an Adventure Time-inspired cake for Rudy‘s birthday.

“I just got back from overseas about a day ago, and I’m very jet-lagged. And I forgot it was Saturday, and I remember now because that’s Cake Night tonight,” Hamish said in an IG post.

“My daughter will need a cake, and as family tradition dictates, she has demanded from her jet-lagged father, who just got back from overseas, who doesn’t have a lot of time to get equipment for this, an Adventure Time-themed cake.”

Despite his jet-lagged self, Hamish pulled through, whiskey in hand, and pulled the ultimate all-nighter just for his daughter.

Showing the process via IG Stories, Hamish revealed the “musts” of this cake, as demanded by the birthday girl.

“This is my daughter’s favourite cartoon. So, the requirements are: the first is real; that’s fine. We’ll light that tomorrow. The logs are chocolate; I’ve got an idea for that. There’s loads of candy on the cake; that was her requirement, but not on the cake, like piled around it. I think that’s just a scam to get free candy, but I’ll do it,” he shared before jumping into the main challenge.

“And this is the hard bit: Jake’s arms can really stretch. So, she wants to be able to stretch him out,” Hamish said, before adding that his daughter wanted a red velvet layered cake.

After a few montages of Hamish completely ~slaying~ the bake of zi cake, he then added that Rudy came through with another request: “Cake ‘fully drizzled’ in white chocolate”.

“I probably can’t make the chocolate myself; I don’t have time. So I’ve just got some store-bought stuff. That’s totally okay, you’re allowed to do that. As long as it comes from the heart, you can store-buy a few things, as long as the final assembly is made by you,” he shared before cracking on to a rant about how the internet “yells” at how you SHOULD microwave chocolate, which he says is reportedly 30 seconds.

In the next IG Story slide, Hamish is seen drizzling the white choccy on the cake, and it’s looking a bit messy, but hey. I will trust the process on this one.

“There’s drizz going everywhere,” he shared.

During the baking process, Michael Webb (AKA Magic Mike Not The Stipper) joined Hamish on Cake Night to help film.

After drizzling on the cake, Hamish moved on to the fire, which has to be real BTW. For this, Hamish decided to bunch all of the b-day candles into a bunch so it becomes one massive flame, like a bonfire!

Moving on to the choccie sticks, Hamish got worried because it began to “look like we’re cooking turds”.

For the logs, Hamish put on Willy Wonka’s top hat to combine Picnic and Flakes.

Now, to mould Finn the Human, Hamish decided to play with some colour theory by mixing red and purple to create a peach skin tone….. AND YES! He’s succeeded.

“I’ll be honest with you, I felt a big jet lag, lol. I sort of just stopped and closed my eyes for a while. But we’re back,” he said.

After absolutely slaying the Finn and Jake build, it was time for big dawg’s arms, which must be stretchy.

To make Jake’s arms, Hamish made a jello/gummy concoction, in a method that he describes as “real Walter White shit”. IYKYK.

Surprisingly, his method blooody worked!!!!!!!

Using the stretchy arm, Hamish decided to spell out Rudy’s name. He also left one arm “normal size” so it can be stretched on the big day.

Despite the jet-lag and multiple, multiple, glasses of grog, Hamish and Magic Mike (not the stripper) managed to get the cake done at around (or just under) 2am!!!

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, Hamish really puts all our parents who battled with the Australian Women’s Weekly birthday cakes to SHAMEEEE.

From a Lego cake, a function Rubik’s cube cake, to a cursed Avatar: The Last Airbender cake, I think Hamish truly has a calling when it comes to baking up a storm, even when jet-lagged.
