The Traitors Cast Spill On How Their Iconic Outfits Get Chosen
The Traitors isn’t just a cutthroat strategy game full of deception, betrayal and murder. For many contestants across the global franchise, it’s a full-on fashion show.
Maura Higgins, Lisa Rinna and Candiace Dillard Bassett were among the many cast members on the recent US season to turn every breakfast buffet, lounge debrief and Round Table into a runway, wearing statement hats, extravagant gowns and matching outfits that were simply to die for.
While the American stars set the bar high, fans were thrilled to see so many contestants on The Traitors Australia go all out with their fashion choices. Krissy Marsh brought her best fur coats to the manor, Rhys Nicholson has worn countless theatrical suits, and Gamble Breaux entered the game in a skirt and blazer ensemble that was perfect for a murder mystery setting.
Rachael Evren spills on her outfits for The Traitors
Rachael Evren revealed to PEDESTRIAN.TV that while she didn’t personally hire a stylist for her stint on The Traitors, there were a handful of contestants who told her they did.
“Krissy Marsh showed up iconically in all her outfits, and we were like, ‘Krissy, you look beautiful’. She was like, ‘Thank you, my stylist picked it all for me’, and I was like, ‘Oh yep, there it is’,” she recalled.
“I think Claudia [Bonifazio] also had a stylist. A lot of the girls had stylists, and that is where I feel like I let myself down. I was like, ‘Shit, should I have gotten a stylist?’ But even Keira [Maguire] showed up just with all the clothes she had in her wardrobe, and she looked iconic.”
The former Love Island contestant said she brought a total of seven days’ worth of “cute ass outfits” on the show as she assumed she wouldn’t make it further than that, which is why she ended up wearing a mix of her co-stars’ pieces on day eight.
“Day eight came, and I was like, I have nothing to wear for the challenge, and that’s why I was in Rhys’ coat, Kirby [Bentley]’s pants and shoes, Claudia’s earmuffs, and none of it looked put together,” she said.
“I had to bring a bag in of all my clothes and hand it to production and be like, ‘Guys, can you clean this for me? I need some more clothes’. That’s why I had to reuse a lot of my clothes throughout the season because I just didn’t show up with enough.”
Rachael also shouted out her co-star Lawson Mahoney for being one of the best-dressed men in the manor and putting in effort with his looks each day.
“I will give claps to Lawson because as a man, I think sometimes it can be a bit difficult to be stylish on TV. He showed up one day in this, like, slutty little crop, and I was like, I don’t know what you’re doing, but it’s giving, and I like that,” she laughed.
Lawson told P.TV that although he didn’t hire a stylist for the show, he relied on his mum to help him pack his outfits.
“The night before my flight, my mum and I were scrambling, and I was trying everything on,” he said. “My mum’s always been great with fashion, and I’ve been fortunate that later in my life, I’ve been able to wear more things where they don’t look outrageous on me. But it’s all thanks to mum.”
Meanwhile, Alvin Quah made his own fashion statement by packing eight iconic pairs of glasses — which may have been an accidental omen as he ended up being sent home on day eight.
“I got to wear all my pairs of glasses,” he told P.TV. “I must have seen it coming. I should’ve packed like, 24 pairs!”.
There are only two episodes left on The Traitors, which means two more chances for the remaining contestants to showcase their best looks. Let’s just hope they packed enough outfits for the endgame.
