The emergence of the super-tolerant corona virus

Chief Physician of Medical Sciences Sergey Tokarev and academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vitaly Zverev spoke about the possibility that the coronavirus could mutate and cause a new outbreak of the disease after entering the animal environment.

“It cannot be excluded that with direct and reverse translocations of the animal, a supermutant may one day appear, it is necessary to carefully monitor the subsequent full fate of the omicron variant in both humans and animals,” Tokarev explained.

Zverev also did not rule out that mutations of the Corona virus formed between animals can be very dangerous for humans.

“The previous SARS passed from bats to small mammals, and from there to the human body. It changed so much that it began to cause serious illness. In theory, if the Corona virus entered the population of bats and changed so much that it became pathogenic to humans, the outbreak of the new Corona virus is something It’s totally possible.”
