Bentley unveils its first electric car

Bentley has revealed its plans to launch the brand’s first battery electric car in 2025.

The car will be manufactured in the UK at the Crewe plant.

Bentley aims to move from being the world’s largest manufacturer of 12-cylinder internal combustion engines to a purely electric vehicle manufacturer, by 2030, and to achieve carbon neutrality in all areas of activity. Over the next ten years, the company plans to invest £2.5 billion in sustainable development solutions.

As part of a strategy called Beyond100, the company will have all three Bentley models ready in a hybrid vehicle configuration by 2023. Two of them — the Flying Spur and the Bentayga — are already offered as hybrid models.

By 2026, the range will consist exclusively of plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles.
