UN reveals North Korea’s plans to acquire nuclear weapons

According to the report submitted to the UN Security Council Committee on Sanctions against the DPRK, in the past 2021, North Korea tested missiles and nuclear weapons.

“Despite the fact that there were no reports of nuclear tests or intercontinental ballistic missile launches, the DPRK continued to develop its ability to produce nuclear fissile material,” the report said.

Despite developing its own industry and infrastructure, North Korea is looking for ways to develop its program abroad.

Pyongyang has continued to seek materials, technologies, and knowledge for these programs abroad, including through electronic means and joint scientific research.

At the same time, according to the report, the humanitarian situation in North Korea continues to deteriorate – it is assumed that due to a lack of information, it is impossible to accurately assess the damage that sanctions are causing to North Korea.
