Avril Lavigne announces her engagement to Mod Sun

The 37-year-old Canadian singer Avril Lavigne showed off an engagement ring studded with a large heart-shaped diamond on Instagram.

The star is engaged in a relationship with American rapper Derek Smith, who goes by the name of Mod Sun.

“Yes! Yes! I love you forever,” Lavigne admitted.

Smith made her proposal in Paris. They were boating on the Seine, and as they were sailing through the Eiffel Tower, the rapper got down on one knee. The singer shared romantic photos on Instagram.

Mod Sun wrote on his personal blog. “The day we met, I knew it was you. Together forever, until the end of our days.”

Many stars wrote comments under the publication with pictures. Legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo also conveyed his congratulations to the couple.
