US court allows transgender students to use men’s room

US Federal Judge Tanya Walton Pratt has ruled that a transgender student at an Indiana high school should be allowed to use the men’s room.

According to the New York Post. The day before, Martinsville Metropolitan School petitioned Pratt to overturn a previous ordinance allowing transgender people to use the men’s restroom.

The judge dismissed the lawsuit because the county was unable to provide evidence that the student’s use of the men’s room had caused irreparable harm to his psyche and health.

Prior to an earlier court ruling, the school prohibited transgender students from using the boys’ restroom, playing on men’s sports teams, and using the pronouns “he” and “she.”
