The National Council for Women congratulates all the winning films at the Aswan International Women’s Film Festival

The National Council for Women, headed by Dr. Maya Morsi, and all its members, congratulated all the winning films at the festival in its eighth session, which concluded its activities yesterday, which included the screening of 76 films from 36 countries within the festival’s various programs and competitions.

 

The President of the Council, Dr. Maya Morsi, expressed, in a statement issued today, her happiness with the size of the films participating in this session, and the achievement of the participating Egyptian films in winning many festival awards.

Special congratulations were sent to all the makers of the film “Journey 404.” For winning the award for the best Egyptian film that discusses women’s issues, she stressed her pride in the interest of Egyptian filmmakers in addressing women’s issues, praising the artist Mona Zaki’s outstanding performance during the film and her interest in addressing various women’s issues in her recent works.

 

The President of the Council confirmed that the festival is an opportunity to convey messages to the world about the status and value of women in society.

It is worth noting that the movie “Journey 404” It won the award for Best Egyptian Film, directed by Hani Khalifa, screenplay by Mohamed Rajaa, filmed by Fawzi Darwish, and starring Mona Zaki, Mohamed Farrag, Mohamed Mamdouh, Sherine Reda, Mohamed Alaa, Hassan Al-Adl, and produced by Mohamed Hefzy and Shahinaz Al-Akkad.

And I decided. The Feature Film Jury awarded the Best Film Award to the film “Daughters of Olfa” It is a script and directed by Kawthar Ben Haniyeh and a joint production between 4 countries: France, Tunisia, Germany and Saudi Arabia.

While the award for best direction was won by director Sarah Somma for the German film “Arthur and Diana”, and the award for best scenario was won by director and writer Kawthar Ben Haniyeh. For the movie “Daughters of Olfa”, the best acting award went to Bianca Delbravo, Delphine Asaad and Saphira Mosberg, the heroines of the movie “Heaven is Burning”. It is a joint production between 4 countries: Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Italy. It also won the jury award for the Egyptian film “The Letters of Sheikh Daraz.” Screenplay and direction by Maggie Morgan. The Jury Prize went to the Spanish film “Colorado.” Directed by Sandra Gaygo and Pilar Gómez, the Best Direction award went to director Dalia Nemlesh for the Lebanese film “You Remember,” and the Best Film Award went to “God’s Envoy.” Scripted and directed by Amina Mamani Abdoulaye, it is a joint production between Niger, Burkina Faso, and Rwanda.

The management of the Aswan International Women’s Film Festival, in cooperation with the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, decided to award a special award for the best Egyptian film that contributes to promoting Egyptian tourism, and reveals The beauty of tourist and archaeological sites in Egypt, and the award went to the Egyptian film “Maqsoum”. The European Union Award went equally between the Egyptian film “The Letters of Sheikh Daraz” and “The Letters of Sheikh Daraz.” Screenplay and direction by Maggie Morgan, and “Daughters of Olfa” It is a script and directed by Kawthar Ben Hania and a joint production between 4 countries: France, Tunisia, Germany and Saudi Arabia.

The jury of the Films With Athar Award awarded the Best Film award to the film “I told you” Directed by Malak Al-Sayad, it is an Egyptian-American-German production. The film “Nour Ainy” also won the Jury Prize. Directed by Muhannad Diab, it is a joint production between Egypt and the Netherlands. The jury awarded the Best Idea Award for the film “Internal Day” Directed by Rafiq Joseph.

The film "Resurrection" won first prize in the workshop film competition. Written and directed by Mohamed Rabie, the second prize was won by the film “The Wheel.” Written and directed by Safaa Metwally, the third prize was won by the film “You Live Long”. Written and directed by Mahmoud Hamdy.

 

The committee granted a special mention to the film “Al-Ghanaya” Directed by Randa Diaa and the film “Biography of Paths” Directed by Amr Mostafa, and the film “Light of Solitude” Written and directed by Maryam Abdel Ghaffar, a special mention was also given to actor Khaled Atallah for his performance in the workshop films.
